Enkara - Rusty-brown-grey andesite

The name andesite is derived from the Andes mountain range in South America. Being one of the most frequent igneous rocks in the Carpathian Basin, it is formed by the solidification of the magma rising to the surface. It can appear both as single and coherent blocks of stone, or foliated from horizontal to slant layers. The andesite has varied nuances: brownish grey, light and dark grey, blue-lilac, black. The andesite paver is frost and abrasion-resistant, non-skidding with high carrying capacity, that is why it is an important building and decorating stone. Due to these important physical properties its usefulness has been known for centuries, and it is widely used nowadays, too. As exterior stone veneer it is indispensible ornamental component of plinths, stonewalls, columns, balconies, stairs, walkways, at the same time being a popular natural indoor paver for wall cladding, too. The andesite can be acquired in irregular (raw) or cut-to-size slabs, its blast resistance makes it widely used as carved cobblestone, which is an important and quality veneer for drive- and walkways.
Enkara - Rusty-brown-grey andesite: Besides its high resistance, one of the most interesting and notable physical properties of this type of andesite is its cheerful rusty-brown-grey nuance.  This colour is due to the iron-oxide penetrating into the andesite occurring in horizontal and inclined layering in nature, and it can vary from yellow to ruddy and russet, and rarely green. It is mostly used as exterior natural frost-resistant paver, as an excellent decorating veneer for plinths, fences and walkways. It is classified according to two dimensions: 1-4 cm, the thinner one, and the 2-6 cm thick slabs, both are entirely frost-resistant pavers.
